This album is a collection of Thunder Strikes and Storm sound effects. This compilation includes loops of dry or wet storms, and a series of single Thunder strikes of various intensities. For more details, check out the Sound Effects List Tab.
All my sound effects are made using my own personal recordings. For this album, I spent some time outdoors during rainy and stormy days. For safety reasons, during heavy thunder episodes, I would leave my recording material running outside alone, and take cover in secure places.
I then manipulated my recordings in my home studio to make them sound, bigger, more intense, more realistic. I also needed to do some cleaning up, because there is always a lot of noise pollution outdoors.
To create atmospheres I often use several layers of recordings. For example I will pile up a recording of rainfall with some wind, and add a few dry lightning strikes to artificially create a storm sound effect.
The reason I choose this approach is to create ‘larger than life sounds” which is often required in films, documentaries and video games to give a much stronger impact to a scene.
All tracks are seamless loops and can be repeated as long as necessary for your projects.
